Kelly Flynn

Founder & Chief Investment Officer

 

Kelly is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Prospective Value Partners. Kelly grew up in Des Moines, IA, and received his AB cum laude from Harvard University, in Cambridge, MA, where he was also captain of the wrestling team.

In 1990 he began his career as a Financial Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of The First Boston Corporation in New York, NY, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, capital raising and restructuring for financial institutions. Next he was an Associate of the Edgewater Private Equity Fund.

After receiving his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Wharton Fellow, from 1997-99 he was a Principal at 1838 Investment Advisors, in Radnor, PA, where he focused on the small cap value portfolio. In 1999 Kelly moved to Lazard Asset Management in New York, NY, where as a Vice President he managed a variety of value portfolios.

In 2002 he joined Goldman Sachs, where, as a member of the Value team within GSAM, he became a Managing Director and over time assumed an increasing amount of portfolio management responsibilities, including small cap value, mid cap value, large cap value, global, and long/short.

In 2015 Kelly founded Prospective Value Partners, in Des Moines, IA, where he currently serves as Chief Investment Officer. Kelly also serves on the Investment Committee of the Foundation Board of Dowling Catholic High School, in West Des Moines, IA.
